New with version 3.5 of
Birder's Diary are two different levels of user licensing:
Basic is designed with the average introductory birder in mind. The ability to enter, edit and retrieve sightings for any licensed taxonomic list is the foundation of any listing software. Advanced users want the ability to record any custom data they define for each sighting, the ability to edit and create taxonomic lists, etc. among other features. No additional download is required once you purchase the advanced license. Simply enter the key and all features of Birder's Diary are enabled. The following is the list of features which are activated with the Advanced User License.
In addition, new with version 3.5 of Birder's Diary, taxonomic lists must be purchased individually in order to be used. (If you are upgrading from a licensed version of 3.0, you will be automatically licensed to use any existing taxonomic lists in your 3.0 database as well as the updated lists for ABA, AOU, BOU, WP and Clements.) Taxonomic lists are available at anytime to download and import into Birder's Diary. You may examine them using the Tax Viewer, but otherwise you will be unable to use them until you have properly purchased a license for them. (The exception to this is that during your 30-day demo period, you may have access to any imported tax list that you choose.) |
